The Walton Street Station is the unwanted child of the New York subway system. Located in one of the worst neighborhoods in New York, it's been the victim of constant crime and neglect. After going so long without getting any attention from the Transit Authority, the subway has been unofficially blacklisted from stops. Only one train in five stop at the station in order to keep the passengers, the driver, and the train safe. Recently protest groups have begun campaigns to restore the Walton Street Station to acceptable conditions so that the people of the area are able to travel to work, appointments, and schools. While these groups have gained quite a lot of momentum, the overarching policy of the Transit Authority seems to be firmly behind allow the subway station to fall into disrepair and eventually be quietly shoved underneath the carpet and forgotten.
